Continuing our Success Series, for Episode 2 we'd like to introduce this week's franchisee: Drew from the U.S. In the video below talks about his journey as a business owner, what made him join WSI, the challenges that came along with it as well as the professional fulfillments he's accomplished over the past 7 years.

I graduated from Ford State University with a major in psychology. I felt that no matter what I did, I was always going to have to deal with people. After I graduated I worked in sales for about six months and then I realized that I wanted to do something on my own, to depend on myself as opposed to other people. That’s what really appealed me about WSI, owning my own business and operating the franchise. I think owning my own businesses led to a lot of skill development that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to achieve if I was working in a full time job.

I see my business growing pretty dramatically in the next three years. I think we’re at a point in digital marketing where the people who know it extremely well alongside to their experience, allows them to be able to adapt and respond to what the industry is telling us. It’s exciting in a lot of ways because it's always changing.

You have to stay up to speed with the latest trends but I feel like we’re positioned extremely well as a company to be able to adapt with those changes. So for us, I think it’s going to go a lot from okay we’ve built a great website, we’ve attracted some visitors but ultimately how do we turn these visitors into leads? How do we get those leads ultimately to customers? I think the companies that position themselves well and understand this issue are the ones that are going to grow dramatically.

The satisfaction for me in owning my own business is that now we have a staff of 10 people.  The feeling that I’m empowering the staff and actually giving them an opportunity to grow is powerful for me and something that I feel very good about…

Going into running your own business and being able to operate it is exciting. I mean it’s a roller coaster. There’s ups, there’s downs but I wouldn’t want anything else. I think it’s the best decision I made seven years ago and I’m very happy with it.  I look forward to kind of seeing where the future unfolds and what it’s going to look like because it’s been an exciting journey at this point.
